Garbage Day...In Miniature! II
It's garbage day again in the Lego town, and the local First Gear "Waste Management" fleet has added some new trucks! First up is a Wittke Superduty front loader on a Mack MR chassis dumping a couple cans in a downtown alleyway, before making a quick stop at the Kwik-E-Mart! After that, a Heil DuraPack Python automated side loader on a Mack TerraPro chassis slams back a 300 gallon container behind a shopping center before moving onto a mixed residential/commercial route! Then we make a quick stop by the local landfill, where a Mack Granite roll-off truck is dumping a large roll-off container of industrial waste! A McNeilus rear loader on a Freightliner M2 chassis comes by to make a deposit in the landfill too, before heading off into a mixed residential/commercial route, right in the heart of downtown! Finally, the video concludes with the town's first CNG-powered garbage truck, a Heil Freedom front loader with a Curotto-Can Slammin' Eagle carry can, handling some residential waste around town!
I hope you all have enjoyed this fun little video! All of the die-cast trucks featured are from the 1:34 scale Refuse/Sanitation line, made by First Gear, Inc. These are adult collectibles and not intended for rough play.
First Gear Mack TerraPro Heil Freedom Front Load Garbage Truck
Here is the newest release in the line of 1:34 scale garbage trucks made by First Gear Diecast. It features the Heil Half/Pack Freedom front-end load body on the recently retooled Mack MRU TerraPro cab and chassis. One detail that makes this model stand apart from the rest of First Gear's replica garbage trucks is the highly detailed CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) fuel system. According to an online release, First Gear will be offering this model with either roof-mounted or tailgate mounted CNG tanks, or set-up with a standard diesel fuel setup. This first edition, seen here, has the tailgate mounted CNG tanks. As more and more private and municipal waste haulers are switching to cleaner alternative fuels, such as CNG, I think it really makes for a great additional detail to this model. Aside from the CNG fuel system, the rest of this model (measuring in at approx. 12 inches long, 2.75 inches wide, and 4 inches tall) is packed with detail. Poseable hydraulic cylinders; fully detailed engine, exhaust system, and drivetrain; lifelike cab interior; realistic warning decals; and even a fire extinguisher all make this outstanding replica almost mistakable for a real truck!
This is by far my favorite garbage truck that First Gear has come out with yet! I hope you all enjoy this quick little video I put together to show off some the previously mentioned functions and details! Thanks for watching!
Garbage Day...In Miniature!
It's garbage day in the mini-city! Lol. But seriously, here's a few of my First Gear Diecast 1:34 scale garbage trucks "picking up trash" from a few Lego buildings that the wife and I built. Really just kinda put this video together as a test to see how well of a backdrop the Lego buildings would make for my First Gear trucks, and I gotta say, I think it was a success! The wife and I plan to eventually build a whole little city layout in our spare time! Hope you enjoyed! Any questions? Feel free to ask away!
Custom First Gear Garbage Truck - 1:34 Scale Heil CP Python
Here it is - the demo video of my custom built 1:34 Scale Heil CP Python! The major body components were created using 3D printing, with a few parts and the finishing work being completed by hand. This custom body is mounted to a 1:34 scale Mack MR chassis made by First Gear Die-Cast. From creating the initial 3D CAD drawings to final completion, this project took me around 2 months. Altogether, I spent around $300 on this project, which may seem a little steep, but for a unique, one-of-a-kind piece like this that created myself, I feel the cost was well worth it! Any questions and comments are welcome, as usual!
1:34 Scale Custom Built Lodal EVO Garbage Truck
I present you with the latest addition to my collection of custom-built models, my 1:34 scale Lodal EVO MAG-20 garbage truck! I decided to go with the late '80s/early '90s model, and painted it in the old Waste Management paint scheme from that time period. It's not quite finished yet, I'm having to re-work the tailgate hydraulics, and I still need to do the decals and such, but I thought I'd show off what I've got so far. I spent a lot of time trying to make this truck as realistically detailed and as accurate to the real thing as possible. The packer and cart dumpers are fully functional, and the tailgate raises. Once I get it completely finished, I'll make an update video! And before anyone asks, no it's not for sale. Also, in the opening shot, I sat it next to the First Gear 1:34 scale Mack MR/Wittke FL for size comparison so you can see the scale accuracy. Anyways, thanks for watching!
